Hello,

I downloaded the lastest version of PM. ( 16960 )
I unzipped it form dmg file and copied to desktop.
When I try to open the application, I have an error message by the system asking that the file is damage and I have to move to the trash.
I am not able to open and lunch PM.

I tried serval time, re downloading also the program...but...nothing to do.

El Capitain, 10.11. system, Mac Book Pro Retina 13", ( latest 2015 ), processor 2,7 ghz, Intel core i5, ram 8gb DDR3, a1867mhz, graphic Intel IRIS, C02QK92YFVH5

THANKS FOR ANY SUPPORT !!!!

Do you have any applications/utilities installed that scan and modify applications?  If they modify PM and remove some of its components then I could see how the OS would think that the application has been damaged.  If you do have some sort of anti-virus/quarantine application installed, then instruct it to ignore Photo Mechanic.

I am confused by "I unzipped it form dmg file and copied to desktop." because the file you downloaded should not be a zip file containing a DMG file.  It should simply be a DMG file that only needs to be launched.

Where are you getting your Photo Mechanic build from?  You want to get it here:

http://www.camerabits.com/downloads/

You also may have better results if you copy the application to your Applications folder instead of your Desktop.

no, may be I wrote not very well...but...

Yes, I downloaded it from your website, as ......PhotoMechanic5R16960.dmg

after downloaded, as for the oldest version.......I expanded it and I move the PM application into desktop.......or...into the application.

but from desktop, or from the application folder....I have always the same problem.......the program result damage, so you have to move it to the trash...

THANKS again.....

OK, at this point we need to find out the status of the file you've downloaded.  Open the Terminal application (Applications/Utilities/Terminal) and then enter the following

shasum

(there is a space after the word "shasum")

Then go out to the Finder and drag your "PhotoMechanic5R16960.dmg" file onto the Terminal window.  The filename will be typed in for you.  Click back in the Terminal window and press enter.

It should output something like this:

370ad2fc7ea0eeb96ea867abad4a72200fee39d8  /Users/kbaker/Downloads/PhotoMechanic5R16960.dmg

Compare the number with the number yours produces.  If they're not exactly the same then something has modified your downloaded file.

Let me know what you find.

Possibly look here for a solution?
http://wpguru.co.uk/2015/02/how-to-fix-this-file-is-damaged-and-cant-be-opened-in-mac-os-x/
Nope, that is NOT the solution. PM should install fine without the from anywhere selected (advise: do not select that option, ever)
