What OS are you running?
What version and build number of PM are you running?
Can you post a screenshot of the error?  Use the 'Attachments and other options' link when you're composing your reply to this message and there you'll be able to upload your JPEG format screenshot.

Thanks,

-Kirk

We are able to reproduce the problem and have contacted SmugMug to alert them about the problem.

We'll let you know what comes of this.

I have no workaround to offer you at this time.

They have told me that they're going to rollback their changes temporarily but it won't be a permanent solution.

They may have to make an accommodation for PM5.  We won't be able to change how PM5 works with SSL.  A change that major will have to wait for the PM6 release.

At this point the resolution of the problem rests entirely in the hands of the SmugMug folks.

The last information I received from them was: "We're going to be rolling back those changes on Sunday, so the app should work again."

Hi Kirk,

I don't doubt you for a moment having experienced excellent assistance from you in the past, but received this reply from SM this morning.

"Thank you for contacting SmugMug. On our end, I’m not aware of any recent changes that may have caused any issues with third party tools, like the Photo Mechanic SmugMug uploader (which is not something we created).

From the quotes you include, it sounds like Photo Mechanic made a change that caused an issue and that they would be rolling back their change to allow their SmugMug uploader to work again.

If Photo Mechanic believes that there is an issue on our end, they may contact our API team for assistance in resolving the matter.

Let us know if you have any other questions.
Sebastian
SmugMug Support Hero"

I had included your quote that they were dealing and rolling back the changes when I sent in my request for assistance from them.

Any thoughts, as they appear to be disclaiming there is a problem at their end?

Many thanks.
Cheers,

Dougie.

An update from SM after I asked them to explain how they came to their conclusion on your quote Kirk -

"Thanks for your reply. I didn’t see the color formatting of the quotes you included and to me it looked like there were two different messages from the Photo Mechanic team.

That said, a fellow Hero had some additional information on this and it’s still something we’re looking into. At this point there is no update to the issue other than that we’re going to roll back the changes made. I don’t have an ETA on when we would be able to do so, but it’s something we’ll be addressing as soon as possible.

I’m sorry for any hassle. For the time being, I can only recommend that you’re using our browser uploader for any uploading."

So we're not any further forward really but at least SM have taken ownership (again).

Maybe more SM customers should register the problem and it may raise the profile in getting a resolution.
Cheers,

Dougie.

The kind folks at SmugMug have indicated to me that the rollback will occur at 5PM Pacific time today.
