Copying IPTC
« on: September 06, 2016, 03:28:26 AM »
I did an export of images from Lightroom and captioned all of them.

Sadly I had made a mistake on the export and the image resolution was too low. I did another, higher resolution, export and opened them in PM, however (obviously) the captions were not applied.

Is there a way to bulk copy the captions from one folder to another, where the number of photos, the image name are identical?

No.  No such feature exists in Photo Mechanic, but you can use the Text exporter to create a Code Replacement file and then use the IPTC Stationery Pad to lookup Code Replacements and apply them to your high resolution files.

Or you could use ExifTool along with a script to do all of this in one pass.

If you'd like to try the PM way then let me know and I'll work up some more detailed information.
