Code Replacements / Identifying Players
« on: September 05, 2016, 03:54:36 AM »
Hi all,

I'm starting to cover some lower league matches, which makes identifying players often more difficult. For example a recent match the away team didn't supply a team sheet and their website didn't have pictures of all their players, even worse I don't think they were all listed!

However, retrospectively looking up a player seems to be very inefficient, what tricks do togs on here use to identify all players in a team?

I was thinking of trying to photograph each player as they warm up and then recording their number using Canon's voice note feature, however, players often warm up in nondescript kit.

Be interested to hear what other people do.

Thanks.

Unless you know them all by face, you are in trouble identifying them.
Much more since you haven't a player list with their numbers.

My usual work are cars and their drivers. I already know them all by their helmet, their racing suit and of course, the car. The number is secondary now because with a glimpse I recognize them.

In the case of rugby (are you talking about rugby?) always a player roster file was provided.
