MacBook Pro in cold conditions

JonHob:
How does everyone get on using their MBP's out in the cold?

I'm having issues with my 2015 MBP and the cold. It's switching off around 70-80 minutes of a football match, plus 15 minutes for half time. When I eventually get it plugged in to the mains, it boots up with 80% (ish) battery power.

Has anyone suffered this problem? How did you get round it?

Thanks

I have seen this behavior before, have you looked at your battery's health?

When the battery runs down (old) it may give an indication that there is 80%of life remaining, but the charge diminished over time.
80% may have given you 4 hours of use when the battery was new, but now 80% only give you 1 hour

JonHob:
Hi

The battery has only 11 charge cycles so is in as new condition.

neiram44:
Hej!

From my experience it depends how cold but batteries in general suffer or at least get strange behaviors...

It's the same for me with batteries for DSLR.

But as soon as it seems quite new have you check that this behavior didn't happen also during "normal" usage?

JonHob:
It seems OK during normal conditions. In fact, it lasts ages! It's just when its cold.
