Progress window during star-rating writing process

I am using the newest version of PM (Macbook Pro Mid 2015, MacOS Sierra): during star rating in the grid view I can see for a very short time (approx. 0,1 - 0,2 seconds duration) a progress windows, which is quite annoying. In full view mode I don't get this progress window. All pictures are on the internal SSD.

Do you know why this happens?

The Preview window only ever operates on a single photo, where the Contact Sheet can operate on many photos.  So in the case of the Contact Sheet the operation is run on a thread that shows a progress dialog.  I'll change it to have a delay before it shows the progress such that if it finishes quickly, the progress dialog will not be seen.  (The speed of the operation will remain unchanged.)
