GPS Browser Map Crash
« on: February 04, 2017, 11:03:04 AM »
Hello Kirk,

On my Macbook Pro I'm getting a shut-down of Photo Mechanic or crash of PM when using the GPS browser map. No error message is produced.

I am way back on OSX Mountain Liion in order to preserve use of another app no longer functional under Yosemite/Sierra. This might be part of the problem?

Laptop:  Macbook Pro Retina, Mid 2012, OSX 10.8.5
Photo Mechanic:  5.0 18040 (9e75cf5)
Files:  Nikon NEFs with embedded GPS data.

Sequence of Events:
Right-click NEF thumbnail on contact sheet.
Select Show Map.
GPS Map Browser window pops up with correct location marker.
Click +/- arrow on map to zoom in/out on map and get crash with no error message.
Sometimes +/ zoom works once or twice. But the 2nd or 3rd zoom causes crash.

Another Problem:
The right/left arrow keys above the EXIF box do not work.

Thank you for your support.

Regards -

Do Google Maps when viewed on Safari have a similar problem on your system?  PM embeds a "WebKit" browser (the same base browser that Safari is built upon) to show Google Maps.

Another Problem:
The right/left arrow keys above the EXIF box do not work.

The navigation arrows will only work with no photos selected (will allow you to cycle through all images in the Contact Sheet) or on the current selection.  So if you have one image selected when you bring up the map then you only have one image to cycle through.  Do you have a single image selected when you bring up the map?

No. The Google Maps zoom using Safari works just fine.

My error on the navigation arrows. I did indeed have only one image selected.
So no problem there. Sorry about that one!
