Support for 2016 MacBook Pro's touchbar
« on: April 10, 2017, 01:08:12 pm »
It would be nice to have some PM specific functionality for the new 2016 MacBook Pro interactive touchbar.
Just saying.

Having owned a touchbar mac since November, I have yet to see a software app that does anything creative with it, with the possible exception of Keynote.

Keyboard shortcuts are much faster -- because they don't require the user to take eyes off the screen.

I'd much rather that Camera Bits focuses their energy on things with a more universal appeal.

I think some features could be added to the Touchbar in PM, but I would love to see at least the old fashioned F1-F12 keys being displayed - not needing one to press the FN key to show the F1-F12 keys...
Working on Mac, OSX, iOS and with some Canons.
Allways shooting RAW.

Agreed, I'd at least like to see some buttons for the F1 to F4 view functions of All, Selected, Tagged and Untagged options.

It would also be amazing if there was a way to get a "Browse with Photo Mechanic" button in the TouchBar when having a folder highlighted in the Finder. Just wishful thinking!

You don't need a touchbar for that -- just install finder services with PM.  Then you can right click, click services, then 'browse with PM'

Thanks Ron, I use that daily and deploy the service to our other photogs.

But being able to activate it with one touch instead of through a menu tree would be very convenient.
