Action On Ingest Complete

What are the possibilities of of triggering an executable action upon ingest complete, (or failed). Specifically I'd like to see an the option to run an Applescript so as I can send my Mac to sleep once ingest is complete. I predominantly shoot weddings and will usually leave 4 x cards ingesting and go to bed. Invariably the process hasn't completed by the morning due to my mac going to sleep.
It doesn't have to be an Applescript, just something I can create a trigger from. I think this used to be achievable with Growl, but as that hasn't been updated since 2013, I think that's no longer an option.

I'm sure I'm not the only one who would find this useful, other scenarios could be initiate a back up, or start a ftp upload. Ingest is such a key part of PM, it would be so helpful to be able to automate other processes on completion.
