I input a lot of info and didn't have the preferences set correctly . . . my fault. Is there any way I can get the info that is in these .xmp files written directly to the raw file?

Any direction much appreciated.

Yes: http://wiki.camerabits.com/en/index.php/User_Manual_Flat_View#Update_IPTC.2FXMP

You'll want to change your preferences to write embedded XMP, and read XMP sidecars first.  Then when you're done, change the read settings to read from embedded XMP first followed by XMP sidecar files second.

That should do it.

Thank you very much! So glad I don't have to redo everything.
