Preview window edit shortcut
« on: October 10, 2017, 10:14:46 AM »
I have Photo Mechanic Version 5.0, build 18980 (60d39ba) installed on both my Macbook Pro and my iMac, both running on the latest High Sierra 10.13.

I the preview window, on my Macbook Pro the E key can be used to trigger external editing (as it should do according to the keyboard shortcut list) Surprisingly this does not work on my iMac, in order to trigger editing from the preview window I have to press command-E.

I cannot figure out what I am doing wrong...

Hello,

Have you assigned a default application to edit photos under Photo Mechanic's Launching Preferences page?

Jerry, thanks for your help.

No the setting is on "let the finder open files" on both Macbook Pro and iMac

After installing a default application to edit photos on the iMac and using this only one time I returned the setting to "let the finder open files", and the E key now works on my iMac too.

On hindsight I temporarily had a default application to edit photos on my Macbook Pro too, this explains probably why the E key worked over there.

Some kind of initialisation issue??
