Ability to customise number of lines in certain fields
« on: October 13, 2017, 09:06:29 AM »
Is there a reason why the IPTC fields that only have a single line in the info box and the stationery pad cannot be adjusted to have multiple lines? If that cannot be done for technical reasons would it be possible to wrap the text and so you can see more than the 60 (ish) characters and spaces that appears to be the current limit? One specific client wants to use the Title/Object field for more text than you can see at a time which makes editing it difficult.

Single line fields aren't suitable for wrapping.  If wrapping were to occur, all of the wrapped lines wouldn't be able to be seen at all.

So is there a reason that single line fields have to be single lines? Could they be changed to multiple lines, or is there a technical reason why they must remain as singles?

I'd have to recheck the specifications but generally when a field allows for multiple lines we accommodate them.
