Looking for a scripting genius

soren steffen:
I have a feature request that I know many of mu colleagues would like too.

When I save into a folder I would like a folder action to transmit my pix to a ftp server.
I should be able to do it in Automator, but it doesn't work.
As soon as the first file starts uploading and I save a new file to the folder, the new file is not uploaded.

I have tried with Captain ftp, who has a feature called Cowsnest that watches folders. Same problem, maybe one or two files get uploaded, but if I keep saving files to he folder, it stops.

I have tried to modify the folder action script, to no avail.
Script timer is inconsistent , too.

Anyone out there who can help me?

If only PM was scriptable, maybe Kirk could find a solution?

with WinSCP it works, but thats not a ftp-client.
have you tried CoreFTP? http://www.coreftp.com/ftp_client_features.html

Maybe "File Synchronization" means that, for what youre looking for.

Sorry, didn't mention I am on a Mac. Coreftp is win only.

It can work with Cyberduck, but Cyberduck has no way of showing the activity, so you cannot follow the transmission and catch errors.

File sync. doesn't do the job, as the autamator action doesn't react to files saved when it is running.

I have managed a workaround by letting Transmit start and upload the first files, then Automator pauses and starts the same action again.
Not very sophisticated, but it works.

Maybe I am missing something, but why would you not FTP from Photo Mechanic and have it save a copy of your transmitted images to whatever folder from the FTP dialog? IT would look to me to accomplish the same thing.

whats about http://www.robgalbraith.com/bins/content_page.asp?cid=7-6452-6764 ?
