Optimal setting for no lag deleting in preview mode?
« on: December 21, 2017, 01:20:46 PM »
I'm culling a couple of thousands files in preview mode to verify sharpness, but what is the optimal setting to eliminate my current lag? I would like to be able to press the delete key very fast to delete images, but  there is a certain lag from the moment when I press delete, to when the image disappear and the next one loads up so It may be deleted again.

Is there an excessive lag when tagging or rating the file in the Preview window?

Where are the images located (internal HD, external, NAS, etc.) ?

What operating system are you running?

No, no lagging at all when tagging, rating. it's lagged even when on contact sheet window, not just in preview.
macOS High Sierra 10.13.1
images are on internal SD drive

Certain file operations are slower on macOS 10.13 for instance deleting files.  You could take the delay hit all at the end by giving your unwanted images a particular label, rating, or tag.  Then when you've made your pass through all of the images, select all of the unwanted ones and then delete them all at once.

macOS 10.12 and earlier don't have these file system problems like 10.13 does.
