Command Line Activation / Deactivation
« on: January 18, 2018, 02:31:12 PM »
Kirk,

I was glad to see the ability to activate and deactivate via the command line is now available.

http://wiki.camerabits.com/en/index.php/User_Manual_Flat_View#Activation_via_Command_Line

I have a question related to when updates are deployed via a third party management tool (not through PM) on top of an existing, activated, installation.

Will running the activate command cause any problems for an already activated installation?

Thanks!

It shouldn't, no.  But if you're using some sort of scripting language, you can check to see if it is activated first and then skip over the activation in the script (assuming it allows evaluation and branching.)

OK thanks Kirk. I just wanted to make sure it wouldn't ratchet up the activation count on the license every time an update was installed.

I'll test it out.

Fear not.  Activating a system that has already been activated does not increase the activation count.
