Picking picture by color

In 4.4 I could select pictures by color, ie if I hit the 2 key it would mark it in red. How can I make it do this in 4.5 without it picking starts. When I hit the 2 key, now it gives it 2 stars. For now I just want to mark it as red.

Are you running the latest beta?  The keyboard shortcuts should be color class-centric again.
