Another affected, the same effects of slowness as all previous ones.

Tested in Mojave 10.14.3. & 10.14.4

At first I thought it would be because of the type of image file that I normally use, Fujifilm compressed RAF.

I return temporarily to PM5.

Good work & anxiously waiting for this problem to be resolved,
jose.

Is it worth wiping PM5 and PM6 and trying a fresh install?

Has anyone tried this with success?

You can add me to the list of slow preview generation.

I'm browsing jpegs only over a gigabit network to a Synology 1517+ and it's dramatically slower than the install of Photo Mechanic 5 on the same folder.

Hi All,

Just wanted to add that I too am experience sluggishness. Specifically, after clicking on a photo to preview it, and then pressing the arrow keys to advance from photo to photo, the speed that I can advance from photo to photo is very slow.

To try and quantify the difference, in PM5 it takes me 2.5 seconds to traverse through 10 photos; on PM6 6.3 seconds. Thus, PM5 is 2.5 times faster. I observe the sluggishness with both RAW and JPEG photos. I even tried small (2000x1333 pixels, 1050K size) JPGs, and PM6 is sluggish advancing through those photos. So it's not just about the file size. FWIW, both types of files were Canon files processed with Lightroom Classic 8.2 (from .CR2 to JPG), but given that RAW files are affected, I don't think it has anything to do with post-processing.

I appreciate all the hard work Camera Bits has put into PM6; however, at the moment I'm having to go back to PM5 to work efficiently.

My specs:
OS: 10.14.4 (18E226)
iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, Late 2015)
4 GHz Intel Core i7; 24 GB 1867 MHz DDR3
Graphics: AMD Radeon R9 M395X 4 GB

Same as the others.  PM5 has been solid for years.  Photo Mechanic Version 6.0, build 2725 (1d89a41) is intolerably slow.

Not sure if this helps research the problem, but on my system, I've just tried booting into safe mode, and it's still slow as anything..  PM5 still runs really quickly..  must be an OS issue rather than conflict with any other software?

Yes. We're in the process of contacting Apple on this.  Hopefully they'll have a workaround because waiting for an update to Mojave could take weeks or even months.

Same issue here, I guess I'm going back to PM5 until this is fixed.

Same issues as listed above here on a 2018 MBP, PM6 started as quick but degraded quickly and I'm back on PM5 for the moment.

I too am having similar slow down issues but I am not on Mojave. I am on High Sierra 10.13.6 so I don't think it is tied to Mojave. PM5 has worked fast and faultlessly on the same system.

I updated my OS last night and it's possible that solved the issue. Loading seems much faster today on previews, much like old PM5. Anyone else do the newest Apple update and have success? I'll keep trying to use it today to make sure it's working properly.

Which update?  Is there now a 10.14.5 update?
