Just try the new PM6, but it is wired that it really Slower than PM5 When Viewing JPG on Mac Pro 2013
PM6 has a delay when a press arrow key left and right, like pressing 3-4 time per sec, it will see a delay of 0.5-1 sec  to see the image change, but try back on Pm5, just like real-time. as it should be.

Please tell me more about your system.  What OS is it running?  What software do you have installed on it?  Do you have any programs that monitor your keystrokes (TypeItForMe or TextExpander) ?  If you use the mouse instead of the keyboard does the UI respond more quickly?

Exactly the same experience on a Mac Pro 2008 on Mojave 10.14.4. PM6 much slower than PM5 and almost unusable. I use mouse also and no keystroke programs.I had to abandon PM6 this morning when editing an important work and I am glad I didn't throw away PM5 !!!!!!! I have not tried it on a MacBook Pro 2018 as its is my secondary workflow computer.
