What a Brilliant New Feature in PM6
« on: March 25, 2019, 04:31:45 PM »
Hi Kirk,

I have to congratulate you and the PM team for the introduction of the new "Persons Shown" feature that shows you several possible alternative names when you type just a few characters. This is a real time-saver and could not be better. Well worth the upgrade dollars.......................

Only started using it today and I'm sure there are more time-saving features that I will find.

Briliant, brilliant, brilliant.............

Thanks again.
David

Hope is not the conviction that something wil turn out well,

Not sure if this is enabled in PM6 by default but it was certainly a feature in PM5.

Just enable auto complete in edit > settings > auto complete

It works in other fields too, not just the personality field.

No, the difference between PM5 and PM6 is that PM6 gives you an array of names as you type in the first few characters.

In PM5 if you typed the first characters you only got the one name and if you had a double-barreled name you wouldn't see the whole name whereas with PM 6 you get several names to choose from as you enter the characters.

This is a feature that I was always going to ask for because of the thousands upon thousands of names I have but never got round to it.

Well done PM.
David

So it does! Thanks for taking the time to explain. Another useful feature.

EDIT - Just tested this and it also seems to work in PM5 too. Not sure if that's a consequence of having PM6 installed as well.

PM5 always gave me a whole list of options to choose from, same in PM6. Maybe this was a difference between MacOS and Windows?

Yeah, it's definitely doing it in PM5 here - on MacOS
