The files you see are likely there in reality, but normally hidden. In a terminal window you could check this by performing ls -al DIR WHERE DIR is the directory in question.

By the way, I can confirm the problem with opening files/folders using either drag/drop, the command-line, or the browse with PM Finder service. None of these open a contact sheet with the requested elements. It only works once you already have had PM open with a contact sheet.

Interesting observation: PM actually HAS opened the item(s), but the window in which it has done so is hidden. If you perform a File|New Contact Sheet Tab, the window with the new tab AND the tab with the requested item is shown!

P.S. @Kirk, the download page at the camerabits website mentions the build as beta 3029, this is the PM Plus beta build (which you can't download from there), the build number should be 3023, of course ;)

Mac 10.14.4  Build 3023

Hello Kirk

In the PM6 3023, you can rate the file in the drop down menu while your are in “view crop” but not with keyboard short cut.

Kim,
Regarding the rating not available when "viewing crop" in preview, I was able to use the keyboard short cut (ie: ⌃4) to update the rating using build 3023. Are you not seeing the rating change in the preview thumbnail?

With regard to drag/drop issue, we are looking into it. Thanks very much for the feedback.

Hello Pablo
Thank you for your answer. I can see that it is working when I use both numbers and the command tab. I normally only use numbers alone when it is one picture I have to rate.
Thank you again.
