Regex "filter" for tokens
« on: May 05, 2019, 02:42:46 PM »
Hey,

I've read that regex in renaming was topic some years ago.
I'd love to be able to use it.

I guess something like http://regex.info/blog/lightroom-goodies/template would be great - Jeffrey's tokens are usable accross most of his LR plugins and support filters for all tokens. This would be great with PM-Tokens as well.

Leo,

I'm really not sure what you're asking for?  PM already has variables that you can use to rename your photos.

That what my thread's title states: "filters" or whatever one would like me. Substrings are one part of them, but they don't help when the string's length differs. ;)

The Find and Replace panel now offers regular expression find and replace and can be applied to filenames.  It's not a generic regex in variables, but perhaps it will be effective for your file renaming needs?

And how can I capture from find&replace? I need to separate a part of the filename to use it in the new one.
