New Contact Sheet Opened

When I tag or apply a color class to an image a new contact sheet is opened. Is there a fix? Thanks

This doesn't happen to me, can you tell us exactly what you do to make this happen? A screenmovie would be nice too.
What OS and PM version are you using?

Yes, I have noticed this too, which is annoying. I have not taken the time to figure out how to reliably recreate it. But I am wondering if it may be from switching back and forth between folder and catalog based images, and that a tab may not like getting reused like that.

I'm on a Mac running 10.13.6

Photo Mechanic Plus Version 6.0, build 3413 (9861d09)

To add it also opens a new contact sheet if you edit the IPTC.
