HEIF Sidecars

I understand the HEIF HEIC support is somewhere down the line and I’m glad we can view existing metadata. Could PM6+ write metadata info a sidecar file for now?   
I’ve never been a fan of sidecars, but writing them for HEIF files would at least let us manage them like all our other images, and get that data into the catalog.
Then when full support comes around we could pull in the sidecar data and zap them
Actually I would like to request that for any “unsupported” image type
