Mac sleeps during PM task
« on: February 06, 2020, 04:32:57 PM »
build 4257 (8daf8ba)
macOS 10.14.6

I was using PM's Save As to make JPG copies of hundreds of images, so I left it to run. When I returned to the computer it was sleeping. PM's progress had paused in the middle but happily continued on when I woke up the machine and logged back in.

Not sure if this is an OS issue or a PM issue. Any suggestions?

PM does not try to prevent your system from sleeping.

If you have a long running task that you want to complete, set your power settings to allow the screen to sleep but not put the computer to sleep.

Since you're on a Mac, have a look at the terminal command caffeinate; this will prevent the system from sleeping altogether (for options on usage, please see the man caffeinate).

Thanks Kirk & Hayo for the info. I don't run tasks like that often so no big deal. I always thought if a program was busy running a task that the computer couldn't go to sleep, so I just assumed it was a bug.
