"Erase Source Disk(s) after Ingest" does not work on PM6 Build 4484 (Windows 10).
Option is checked and photos remain on card.

"Erase Source Disk(s) after Ingest" does not work on PM6 Build 4484 (Windows 10).
Option is checked and photos remain on card.

Were there any errors during the ingest?  Nothing will be erased if any errors occurred during the ingest.

If no errors were reported, can you tell me more about:

What kind of card were you ingesting?
What disk format does the card contain?
What card reader are you using?
What interface does the card reader use to connect to your computer?

I'd like to see your Photo Mechanic log.  In Photo Mechanic go to the Help menu and choose "Reveal Support Data..." and moments later a Windows Explorer window will come forward with the zipped log file selected.  Use the 'Attachments and other options' link when you're composing your reply to this message and there you'll be able to upload your zipped PM log file.

Thanks,

-Kirk

There was something wrong with my SD card :-[ . I tried another SD and CF card and everything was fine. You can delete this topic. Thank you for your work

MacOs 10.14.6
Photo Mechanic Version 6.0, build 5216 (bafac3a)

Reviving an older thread,
A hiccup:
After ingesting a 128GB ProGrade CF Express card shot on a Canon EOS R5 I discovered the "Erase Source Disk" is not working.
No errors were reported on the ingest, and the files were either all jpegs or on next ingest CR3 + JPG files.
CF Express card was formatted in camera.
Any help gratefully accepted.
Thanks,
Nati

Further,
I imagine the problem is because the CF Express card is seen by the OS as an external drive?
Do all CF Express cards show up as external drives? Is it the card reader? (also ProGrade)
thanks,
Nati

Nati,

The problem is that macOS reports that the disk is not ejectable.  Photo Mechanic won't erase a disk that isn't ejectable as a safety measure.

Thanks Kirk,
I agree with the PM logic.
My cf express card just got a lot more expensive.
