Event Sorting by Driver & Team
« on: April 13, 2007, 02:39:01 AM »
Hi, Can anyone suggest a slick way to sort by driver and team.
I am new to PM and starting my season of motorsport in the UK.
Clearly being able to access specific driver and team shots will be essential.
If this could be done via code replacement it would be fantastic!

TIA

Did do some searching in the forums but only came across one or two posts. But nothing that mention both drivers and teams.

Can you give me a short example list of your drivers and teams?  Writing it up for Code Replacement should be a snap.

Thanks Kirk,

Here is an example line from my code replacement file

gt1        Vitafone Racing Team (GER) Michael Bartels (GER) Thomas Biaggi (ITA) Maserati MC12, GT1
gt2        GLPK Racing (BEL) Anthony Kumpen (BEL) Bert Longin (BEL) Corvette C5RS, GT1

etc, etc

What would be really great is a way of captioning the image in PM using the code replacement feature, that allowed searching in Photoshelter after the upload without having to add additional keywords.
Can you search the caption for key worrds or phrases instead of the KEYWORD section ??

Look forward to your ideas, J

In PhotoShelter or in Photo Mechanic?

Sorry to be vague.
I want to caption the images in PM (and add othet IPTC data)
Upload into Photoshelter and then have clients search on the contents of the caption.
(Adding additional keywords will be hugely time consuming)

Can you suggest any workflows that will allow me to do this.

Aren't the captions searched as well as keywords on PhotoShelter?

Yes thats what I first thought, but doing some tests over the weekend I have found it to be unreliable.
I have raised a question to Photoshelter, but wanted your thoughts too.
