What is the biggest...?

Is there a number of file that is too much for PM to handle in a single contact sheet?

I imported on folder with over 5000 files and it crashed or at least hangs up and no new thumbs are generated.  I tried to refresh the contact sheet but that didn't work either.  Anyone know if there is there a magic number I should stay under?

There is no magic number.  I have had over 20000 images in a single contact sheet and it was still quite speedy.

I'd guess that there are a few files in one or more of your folders that are problematic in some way (damaged, etc.)
