PM5 - preferences and SFTP connection settings
« on: December 07, 2020, 02:47:07 AM »
Good morning,
I am trying to share some my preferences with some colleagues using windows 10.
I would like them to effectively start with a 'fresh install' and the load the new preferences which I have tested.
They have deleted the preferences files in C:\Users\<your_account_name>\AppData\Roaming\Camera Bits, Inc\Photo Mechanic, and restarted the machine.
All the snapshots go across quite happily, but the actual SFTP connection details do not appear to have come across.
Is there anything else that we should be doing or may have overlooked?
Many thanks,
Martin

It could be a bug.  We'll have to look into it.

It is indeed a bug.  We will fix it in PM6.  PM5 is no longer supported with updates.

Hi,
Thank you very much for the update.
I have been able to export / import preferences with SFTP connection settings previously with PM5 so was a bit puzzled by the issue.
I appreciate you don't want to support PM5 with updates but wondered if you had discovered whether it was a build issue (ie not a problem before / after build number NNNN)?
Any thoughts as to when it might be resolved within PM6 ?
Best wishes,
Martin

I've added the issue to our tracking database.  I do not know when it will be fixed.

As a workaround, you can just copy the folder containing the settings or the individual settings files from one system to another.  They're located at:

%APPDATA%\Camera Bits, Inc\Photo Mechanic\fileupload\templates\builtin
