No preview for JFIF images
« on: December 29, 2020, 07:13:19 AM »
Hello,

I don't get to see a preview for JFIF images in PM+ on Windows 10. Explorer itself is able to show the preview but in PM+ I get a placeholder.

Thanks!

JPEG images with a JFIF extension?  PM/PM Plus does not recognize that extension.  Changing it to .JPG or .JPEG should fix the problem.

Yes, with JFIF extension. Renaming works. I downloaded JPGs form my own website and they are saved with that JFIF extension. I thought it might be a new industry standard.

Seems to be some new Windows 10 behavior:

Would you mind posting a sample file here, please?  Could you zip it up first, too?  Use the 'Attachments and other options' link when you're composing your reply to this message and there you'll be able to upload your zipped JFIF file.

Thanks,

-Kirk

A long shot perhaps, but are you downloading with Firefox?  If so, it might be related to this issue:  https://discuss.pixls.us/t/windows-or-firefox-changes-xmp-to-xml-when-downloading/21963
