Windows to MacOs...all databases are permission denied
« on: January 26, 2022, 02:57:19 AM »
As title suggests, moved from W10 to MacOs recently.

First dip in the new ecosystem so I have a feeling this might be my mistake.

I have moved the databases to users>username>photomechanical.

However upon locating an existing database, I'm being dealt with a "permission denied" error message.

I have Lightroom and CaptureOne in similar areas such as users>username>Lightroom so I don't think it's where the folder is but somehow unix permissions on the files itself differ to those of windows?

Any help or pointer would be appreciated.

This is the error msg (however I don't use proxies and even when I do create the folder, it doesn't work)

open_catalog failed: ["open_catalog: Errno::EACCES/Permission denied @ dir_s_mkdir - /Users/username/PhotoMechanic/Masters/proxies"]

Also double checked and my account has local unix permissions as read/write
