Images not arranged by capture or date chronologically

Hi,

Sorting by either capture date, or date, the images are not sorted in chronological order (from one event), the dates jump, e.g. the first few images are 10/07/2004, next few 12/07/2004, next few back to 10/07/2004, then 13/07/2004 and so on. Maybe I am missing an elementary trick?

If your images are missing the capture time EXIF tag, then the modification time of the file will be used as the date.  What is the modification time of those files?
