CLOSED: Exit confirmation
« on: May 06, 2007, 02:47:14 AM »
I often mistakenly press CTR+Q and PM quits without a question or a trace. I think it would be very helpful to add a dialog to ask "Do you really want to quit?" It is ok not to ask when pressing the X in the window corner because I rarely do that accidentally. But keyboard shortcuts I sometimes mispress...

But if you add this please make it preference controlled ("Ask before quitting?" or something) - I don't want to have a confirm box pop up every time I want to quit.

I don't want to have a confirm box pop up every time I want to quit.

Neither do I when I WANT to quit. But in cases I really want to quit I use Alt+F4 or the X in the window corner instead of the CTRL+Q which is too close to other often used keystrokes. I never miss press the red X or Alt+F4 because nothing often used is surrounding them.

But I agree, make the dialog preference adjustable, and maybe it could be a different option for all kinds of quitting.

And it seems Ver 5 has a confirmation on exit.
But I cannot find a way to turn it off.
Because I am with the last poster and don't want a confirmation please.

See the Accessibility section of the Preferences dialog.  There you can turn off the quit confirmation dialog.

Wow, thanks Kirk. That was fast.
Like a true male, I looked three times through the preferences. Doh.

Now my issues it that after exporting the preferences on my first load of PM5, the last 3 times I tried to export them PM5 crashes.

Hadn't got around to posting about that yet.

Running on Win 7 x64, saving to network share.
Worked the first time. Can't update it after tweaking some preferences.

Would you mind starting up a new thread for this specific issue?

Thanks,
