Error while culling photos on card
« on: May 08, 2022, 02:31:02 AM »
hello,

I know this is not the best way to do it, but sometimes, for fast edits on the go, I quickly go through photos on the card, colour tag them and the tagged photos then get copied to computer and edit them. but, for the last couple of days I am getting this error message as I try to do it:

"Unable to save metadata for /Volumes/NIKON Z 9  /DCIM/108NZ6_2/DSC_5077.JPG.

Error deleting '/Volumes/NIKON Z 9  /DCIM/108NZ6_2/tmp.{89E81623-7D33-3249-839D-53DF7DA836F0}.JPG', result was: 2 [No such file or directory].

Error writing JPEG metadata to file '/Volumes/NIKON Z 9  /DCIM/108NZ6_2/tmp.{89E81623-7D33-3249-839D-53DF7DA836F0}.JPG'."

working with Photo Mechanic Version 6.0, build 6474 (389323d) on MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2019).

Is there enough space on the card for the image to be duplicated?

You definitely should not edit on your cards.  If there were to be a data corruption issue on the card, your damaged images are lost.
