Changing folder name without losing contents from a collection

I've renamed a folder with about 120k images in subfolders and so PM now sees these files as missing. I could remove the old folder and its contents from the catalog and then add the renamed one but I think this would lose the images from their collections and leave no record of what had been lost. Checking each collection beforehand would be an impractically long job.

With Media Pro I could select all the missing files and then point at the new folder and tell it to reset the paths to the new folder. I haven't found an equivalent facility in PM. Is there a way to do this?

If not, is there a way to get PM to recognise the new folder as a replacement for the old one so the collections would remain? If not, is there any way to retain the integrity of the collections as the paths are reset?

Thanks for the link. I'm de-duping it all now to remove any duplicate additions so will try tomorrow.
