Files aren't readable after sending email.
« on: March 14, 2023, 09:03:27 AM »
Ive tried to send a selection of images through wetransfer.com and then in email. Images can't be opened by recipient. Message is "can't read metadata, file corrupted." I've never seen this before?

What application are they using to open the file?

Can you send us one of these files?

Can you send us a screenshot of settings you are using on the "Send Photos via email" window?

What version and build of Photo Mechanic are you using?

Version 6.0, build 6738 (5753775). I assume the client is using PS (she's a magazine editor).

I didn't use the send by email option in PM, used gmail.

Here's one image

Your file opens in Photo Mechanic and Photoshop on my computer. It also opens in several web browsers, and the default "Photos" app on Windows. It seems that only Preview has a problem with this file. I am unclear on where Photo Mechanic is causing the issue here. If I do a "Save as" operation on this file using Photo Mechanic, it creates a new JPEG that Preview has no problem reading. If you have a known good file and provide us with steps of how to make the problem happen on that file using Photo Mechanic, we'd be happy to look into it.
