Moving files after resizing?
« on: May 26, 2006, 03:16:44 PM »
MacBookpro 2 gig duo,2 gig ram,10.4.6 PM ver 4.4.3
I resize my pictures & save them in a folder named "resized". Then I move them back to over right the originals, But it only copies them with a letter added to the number. Is there a way to get to just overight them?
Thanks.

No.  Photo Mechanic does not overwrite files when copying or saving.  It does overwrite when generating HTML.

We really go to great lengths to protect your originals because once they're gone you can't get them back.  Is there any way you can change your workflow to not overwrite your originals?  Why not use a naming convention that lets you know that a file has been processed?  That way if you decide you want to make adjustments, you can work with the original files again.

The older versions did it!
Guess I'll have to find another way. Like resize them & save them in another folder , then delete the one's I need to replace.
Maybe there could be an option to do this?
Sounds like you are trying to protect us from ourselves. Sorry not trying to be a smart-ass. Just an opinion

Are you using drag and drop to do the moving?

Yes, from the right side of PM to the navigator. Why is there a better way?
Thanks Marc
