PM is getting slower and slower after useing FTP
« on: September 01, 2007, 10:25:35 PM »
Hello,

i am useing PM on a HP NX 6325 Notebook with a AMD Turion 64x2 1.6 Ghz Mobile Prozessor and 2 Gig Ram.
I noticed that PM has the tendencie to hang after sending serveral files via FTP. This ist first resolved after closeing the dialog-box where you see what file you have send or where you sending.

Regards Philipp

What hangs?  The FTP queue?  The entire Photo Mechanic application?

How can we reproduce the problem on our end?  Any details you could add?

I have a similar problem.

When I FTP 1000+ photos at 500 pixels wide it seems that PM starts using 48 to 50% of the CPU.  Even 7 hours later it’s still using 50%.  The FTPing is done, but PM is still using a lot of processor power.

I’m using a Core 2 Duo 3G, 2GB and XP.

Any suggestions on how to get it to run faster?  It’s totally repeatable on my computer.

BTW, PM works great with exposure manager.

We've been able to reproduce this issue and are working on a fix for the upcoming 4.5.3 version.  There is no workaround currently other than to send fewer files (which is likely not an option for you.)
