Renaming
« on: October 13, 2007, 04:10:39 AM »
Hello
Let´s say I´ve the Barcelona city into the city iptc field
If i type {city: -3 ) into any other field I get the latest three characters, (  ona ),  and if I Type {city: +3 ) I get  ( celona ),
and... I want   get  Bar , just  the three first characters of each introduced city in order to build my filenames,  is it possible?,

many thanks in advanced

Sure:

{city:0,3}

That will do it.

Bingo!

Many thanks

Bingo!

Many thanks

By the way...would by possible do the same with the three or four first words ( no characters ) of a given text?,
what I mean is as follows: let´s say that I´ve the follow text into the caption field:

"A man bites a dog while waiting for the bus"

Is there some way which allows me get  "A man bites a dog" in order to automatically  type it as the Headline?
