Transferring PM settings to new Mac
« on: October 16, 2007, 05:34:00 AM »
I've just installed PM on a new MacBook Pro and need to keep the settings [capton templates, keyword lists, etc] I had when I used PM on my old Powerbook. I assumed that if just copied accross everything PM related fom the Powerbook I'd be set. However alhough PM works fine I've lost all the settings. Here's what I copied:
PM folder from Users/Library/App Support
PM docs folder from Apps folder
PM Preferences from Users/Library/Preferences
PM .plist from  Users/Library/Preferences

So what am I missing/doing wrong?

Thanks in advance.

Jeremy,

PM docs folder from Apps folder
PM Preferences from Users/Library/Preferences
PM .plist from  Users/Library/Preferences

So what am I missing/doing wrong?

I don't know.  Most settings are in the com.camerabits.PhotoMechanic.plist file which can be found in the following path:

/Users/<your account name>/Library/Preferences/com.camerabits.PhotoMechanic.plist

All of the Snapshots are located here:

/Users/<your account name>/Library/Preferences/com.camerabits.PhotoMechanic/

So if you copy the plist file and the folders contained in the above folder you'll have all but the registration information which I recommend that you just re-enter on your new Mac.

HTH,

-Kirk
