Keeping track of submited pictures
« on: October 25, 2007, 06:24:08 PM »
Hello everyone,

I started to submit pictures to stock agencies, and while keeping track of which one I submitted when only sent to one agency, I get into trouble if I submit the same picture to more than one agency.

I would like to use a field in the picture metadata to keep track, but the only field that allows to enter several presets is the keyword field.

How does everyone keep track on what picture was submitted to what agency?

Any insights on how to do that in an easy fashion would be appreciated.

Thanks,
JH

The Caption Writers field is also a list just like the Keywords field.

Hi Kirk,

Thanks for the hint. Unfortunatelly, some of the agencies will extract information from certain IPTC fields, making them unsuitable for that (including the caption and keyword fields). As an example, one agency extracts the follwoing IPTC information:

IPTC Description (caption)
IPTC Keyword
IPTC Title
IPTC City
IPTC State/Province
IPTC Country Code

So, I guess any of the other fields would be good (perhaps if I sign-up with aditional agencies, they will retrieve information from additonal fields, but that's the risk).

Does IPTC provide for a 'INFO' or 'COMMENTS' field that could be set up to allow for multiple preselects to be entered?

Thanks,
JH

Upsss, you mentioned the 'caption writer' field, not the 'caption' field. Sorry, didn't read your replay correctly.

Well, that may do the job. I'll try it.

Thanks,
