Can I with minimum key stokes add metadata

(1/1)

grather:
This is a question I know I share with a couple of others.
If it can be done how do I add some meta data with minimum keystokes.

I am a moto sports photog.
When sorting images I color tag  and make a crop then save to another folder
with apply crop turned on.  Then I have to go through another program to add to database the
bike/car number.

Is there away to color tag, crop and add a bit of meta data - (ie the bike/car number) without
having to bring up a complete  page.

Maybe having one field on the right?

No, there is currently no way to do that.  But you can select a bunch of images and use the IPTC Info dialog to enter your metadata on each image without having to leave the dialog.  You can keep your cursor in a particular field and it will stay there.  You can use keyboard shortcuts to save and move from one image to another.  The IPTC Info dialog also shows a thumbnail of the photo you are editing so you may be able to read the number plate and enter it right there.

Thanks for the response.
The editor may work. I'll try.
Is this a request worth asking for. Or am I the only one wanting to just enter one field on lots of image?

In other words should I ask in feature requests?

While you can go ahead and ask for it, let me tell you what I plan to do and you can decide if you need to make a request:

I will be adding a customizable list view in the Contact Sheet which will show the Thumbnail (up to 512 pixels) on the left, along with editable fields on the right.  You will be able to choose the fields that will appear, including fields that are display only, and fields that can be edited.  It will be completely controllable via the keyboard.
