"F" key doesn't all ways work. OS 10.5.1
« on: January 27, 2008, 12:14:42 PM »
macbook 2.2 core 2 duo, OX 10.5.1 ,PM 4.5.3
When viewing pictures in preview mode. I hit the F key to see info of a picture & nothing happens, I have to hit the icon on the top of the page to show the info. After that it will work again for a while. Then stop again after about 40 pictures. I'm looking at  Nikon D3 jpegs. any ideas?

Try pressing the 'R' key instead.  It restores the panes.

thanks that works, how come it never did that on 4.4.3.3?
off topic.
When i make folders in pm, it won't let me name them. It turns gray, not the blue to let you rename. If i right click & pick rename it still won't let me.

I find that once you've used R, then F works as it used to again until PM is quit.  I did ask about this a while ago when I first noticed it and there was a valid reason for making R the restore key, though I can't now remember what Kirk told me. :)

Is this with the Favorites or with the Navigator, or something else?

in the navigator, I had the same problem with 4.4.3.3 but after 3 or 4 times it would let me
rename it. With 4.5.3 it wouldn't let me after 10 tries.

OK, I'll look into this.

OK, I now see how this could happen.  If you happen to move your mouse cursor over the contact sheet during the rename process (either by wanting it out of the way or by having the cursor off to the right side when releasing the mouse button during the choosing of the contextual menu item, then the Contact Sheet will steal focus from the text edit field.

I'll see what I can do to fix this, but basically if you take care to not move the mouse cursor outside of the Navigator area then you should be able to rename.

that did it. By keeping the mouse in the navigator bar,it allowed me to rename folders.
Thanks for the help.
