Renaming defaults back to old name
« on: April 08, 2008, 08:48:33 PM »
MAC OSX PM 4.5.3

Sometimes when working on today's game, inputting a current renaming text NAME{seq}DATE... (open a few images, rename, caption, close, go back to a couple new files later, repeat...) suddenly the rename text I've been using reverts back to a namimg text I used over a year ago: differentname{seq}.

Any thoughts?
Thanks.

The rename string in the Rename Photos dialog changes to an old value?

Yes. exactly. Should I replace preferences folder or something like that? Thanks Kirk.

If you throw away the preferences file, then you'll lose all of your preferences.

Can you tell me how to reproduce this behavior?

I get this from time to time too.  The rename dialog sometimes reverts to a very old rename string.  It's erratic so I can't tell you how to reproduce it I'm afraid.  It's always the same one, dating from last February I think.

Do you have something on your system that is backing up and restoring files from your home folder?

Nope.

Just after working on files in a couple of windows, going back and forth, and renaming 5-6 at a time (throughout the course of a game) ... after a while the renaming set I've been using changes to one I used over a year ago.
Thanks.

Can you send me your preferences file?  And also let me know what renaming strings you've been using?

Thanks,

-Kirk
