Show as black & white (and sepia)

PM is a great tool to show images to clients.

Therefore a function that does a quick b&w version (and maybe a quick sepia version as well) would be great!
The next level: incorporate this into the web galleries ...

Thomas, are you talking about *purely* for viewing purposes i.e. in contact-sheet and preview windows? Or actual conversion of teh photos to B&W e.g. when copying files?

I would be interested in the former as an option, sometimes it's interesting to see color pix in B&W for editing purposes - something like a "View in B&W" tickbox on the contact sheet window. But only if it could be fairly instant for viewing only and not make actual conversions.

Yes, only as a rough preview option. Quick & dirty.

I would add my weight to this request. Just a quick short-cut to display image in monochrome would suffice. As professionals we know what an image would look like in B&W but sometimes the client can't make the imaginative leap so a quick B&W preview would be helpful.

While this may have already been requested earlier (not sure), I support this request (purely for viewing) too.

Cheers,

Hi

Any further down the line with adding this feature ?

I really do miss it on occasional jobs & have to revert to using Lightroom which I hate doing for ingesting

You did say you would consider it at one stage & I am guessing it can't be hard to implement

Best

Steve

BTW I am not bothered about sepia. Just B&W would be great

It is indeed not really hard to do, as long as a simple application of a profile would be good enough (meaning not needing a bunch of controls to customize the b&w conversion.)

Hi Kirk

Thanks for reply ...speedy as ever

Absolutely no sophistication required.

I was thinking in terms simply of a check-box 'View in Black and White' which toggles the profile (both for contact sheet and previews)

Actually, thinking about it, could it just be a third toggle option on your Manage Colors button ?

Thanks again

Steve

That would be an elegant way to do it, hope it happens.....
