PM and search on shared disk

Hi all,
could PM do search on shared disk?
My conf is a mac pro with an external  firewire HD where i store all my archive. I've shared this disk on my local netowrk but any serch made from anothe MAC  fail (empty contact sheet)
 ???
Do i need the spotlight server?

Do i need the spotlight server?

The Search facility in Photo Mechanic uses Spotlight, so you'll need to get Spotlight to index that shared drive.  Then Searches should work.

In spotlight preferences i've no options
