Applying watermark
« on: March 23, 2009, 07:08:48 PM »
I have read the manual and it is very vague on how to apply a watermark, plus I have never done it before.
Can someone tell me how to do it in laymans language or direct me to a link. Thanks

Kirk, I am using version 4.5

And you've read page 70 of the Photo Mechanic 4.5 manual already?  I suggest experimenting with the Watermarking dialog to get familiar with it.

Maybe if you describe what you're trying to achieve with your watermark then I may be able to suggest something.

Hi Kirk, I have found out how to put the watermark on the image, but I need to make it bigger. The image is 500 pixels long x 450 pixels high. When the image is brought up on the monitor it is about 5 1/2"L x 3 3/4"H, the watermark is about 1/8" high.
If you could explain the Dimension Panel, Pecentages, Pixel and sliders and how to make the watermark taller I will be all set. Many thanks

What text are you trying to put onto the Watermark?  If you give me the text, I'll work out the settings for you.

Kirk, this is the text   www.derekvallintine.com

Try using Percentages, with the inset as anything between 1 and 25, and the Width and Height set to 75.  Doing this on a 500 pixel wide image made the text pretty large, using up 75 percent of the width of the image.
