Writing City, State, Country from GPS?
« on: April 24, 2009, 10:42:04 AM »
Hi,

Will PM write tinformation about City, State, Country in the near future  based on GPS?
When I now import GPS-Data, those informations are missing.

Import GPS data with what?  Photo Mechanic or some other application?

GPS coordinates are just coordinates.  They don't directly indicate a City, State, or Country, just a position in the world.

We've thought about making it possible to do a reverse-geocode from the coordinates to a location.  But not in 4.6.

Thanks Kirk,

You cleared the dust: what I expect is reverse geocoding ...
Well, so this has to be done by the gps-software, I'm now trying HoudahGeo for mac, this app is writing the gps-data the right way as it seems and does reverse geocoding.
This is what I expect from using  a gps-app: fill in those fields like City, Country, State and Location ...
