What is the appropriate keyword list size?
« on: May 21, 2009, 08:25:56 PM »
I have 5,000 photos from a trip to Morocco that I assemble on a single contact sheet. I want to select relevant photos for a slide show by using combinations of keywords. I could easily identify 50 to 100 keywords for this purpose, but want to know if there are practical size limits or rules of thumb for the number of keywords to put on a single list.

In IPTC and XMP records, Keywords are a repeating list and there is no limit to how long that list may be.  JPEG files can only store IPTC or XMP up to about 65000 bytes so that would be the upper limit.  100 keywords should not be a problem.
