Does IPTC in PM show in expression media & CS3?

Dear PM,
I've entered lots of "location" information and "keywords" in PM and applied them to various images. When I open expression media this information doesn't show in the IPTC areas. Does this sort of info "transfer" over from one photo software to another or do I need to add the same info in each seperate software? I'm new to the concept of IPTC and adding this info to my pics.

What file types are you working with?  What version of Photo Mechanic are you running?  What version of Expression Media are you running?
