How do I change the order of my photos after I process them?

After I process my photos I want to order them according to my preferences which may have nothing to do ranking , #, or capture time.  How do I do this?  I have benn writing down file numbers and switching them in Finder...too much work.

Change the Sort popup menu to 'Arrangement' and then use drag and drop to reorder them.  To do this, select one or more photos, release the mouse button, and then click on a selected photo and drag them to the new location.
